For instructors, SmartBook tracks student progress and provides insights that guide teaching strategies and advanced instruction, for a more dynamic class experience.
Interactive Graphs
Are your students able to complete graphing homework, but still struggle to understand the how and why of what they're doing? Our interactive graphs help students visualize and interpret economic concepts, graphs, and data by providing visual displays for them to manipulate. All graphs are accompanied by assignable assessment questions and feedback to guide students through the experience of learning to read and interpret graphs and data.
Graphing Exercises
Graphing tools within Connect provide opportunities for students to draw, interact with, manipulate, and analyze graphs in their online auto-graded assignments. The Connect graphing tool is easy to use, and helps students apply and practice important economic ideas.
Application-Based Activities
New immersive real-life scenarios engage students and put them in the role of everyday economists. Students practice their economic thinking and problem- solving skills as they apply course concepts and see the implications of their decisions as they go. The tool also provides specific feedback based upon student responses for support when it matters most. Each activity is designed as a 15-minute experience, unless students eagerly replay for a better outcome.
Connect the Dots Videos
Connect the Dots are short, succinct videos that help bridge student's gap in understanding for the most challenging course concepts. All videos include closed captioning and are assignable with assessment questions for improved retention. (Available for all of our Principles of Economics and Survey of Economics titles except Connect Master and Frank. For videos unique to those products, please click the next two tabs.)
Connect Master Videos
Connect Master: Economics has over 250 engaging, professional produced, 2-4-minute topical videos featuring the authors (Carlos Asarta and Roger Butters), animations and graphs. All videos are available in both English and Spanish.
Frank Videos
Our Frank titles offer two unique video series. Learning Glass videos (left) provide tutorials for topics where students tend to struggle. Economic Naturalist videos (right) bring economics to life by showing interesting applications of economic concepts. Economics is exciting and all around us!
Tegrity
Tegrity is a video capture and remote proctoring solution available within Connect that drives student engagement in traditional, flipped, hybrid, or fully online courses.
